Our History
It’s a familiar story, a young man wandering into the forest looking for answers. Before he was Dr. Millet, before he knew the difference between an enzyme and a botanical, young Allan Millet was scrapping the bark off trees for a supplement company. He enjoyed the work. Allan liked being outdoors and enjoyed working with his hands. What he couldn’t understand though, was what tree bark had to do with nutrition. It wasn’t until his own mother became sick that he began to see the connection between nature and wellness.
After seeing the difference it made in his own family, Chuck Millet, father to Allan became interested in being a part of a nutrition company. He had worked as a business consultant for 20 years and while he was consulting for a nutritional company in 1980, he conducted a seminar in Acapulco, Mexico. He discussed his interests in nutrition with his friend, Dr. Bruce Halstead, another speaker at the seminar. Halstead insisted that starting a new company, rather than acquiring an existing one, was the best choice. That way, they could “do it right,” explained Halstead. He even offered to help organize the research.
He introduced Chuck to an elite team of experienced researchers, herbalists, nutritionists, scientists, chemists and bibliographers. Together, this team began creating a group of highly effective formulations from only the finest ingredients.
At the age of 17, Chuck’s son, Allan, worked for a small nutritional company where he took an active role in collecting, extracting and packaging health supplements. When his own mother began taking these products and her allergies began to dissipate, his desire to learn more about the benefits of natural healing motivated him to become a Chiropractic Physician and natural wellness practitioner.
When his father, Chuck, announced his retirement, Dr. Allan Millet teamed up with his wife, Lisa and colleague Dr. Eric Satterthwaite to assume leadership over Professional Botanicals. Now, almost 40 years later, Professional Botanicals’ mission is still focused on creating quality, safe and efficient products for your whole family.
